Stuck Meditation.

I am grateful that this provides me with the opportunity to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I began meditation a few years ago with your 21 day meditation. It changed my life profoundly. I felt that I had a solid center. many of my most negative characteristics seemed to “go to sleep” my anger disappeared and instead of looking at life through negative lenses I looked at life with gratitude after being on antidepressants for 20 years I felt no need for them anymore I have been solidly content with my life. my meditation practice is usually 5 days a week for 45 minutes to an hour I am able to clear my mind and sit in silence about three weeks ago all the sudden I couldn’t meditate anymore when I tried it was just like I was closing my eyes– period. I can still clear my mind but I don’t go into a meditative state I even did your last 21 day challenge and just nothing is there such thing as meditation block? The worst part of this is that all my negative qualities are bubbling up I feel anger bitterness rage and deep sadness what do I do? Help


Your meditation is just as good and effective as before, but because you expect it to feel deep and loving as you initially experienced it, you think you are blocked or it isn’t working. The subjective experience of meditation changes depending upon what kind of experience we are opening into and what kind of old conditioning we are clearing out. Your early experiences of meditation were very expansive and transformative to your personality. Now you have come to a deeper level of your old habits, conditioning and traumas. Clearing and releasing this stress is why meditation feels more superficial, but what meditation is accomplishing is just as important as it was previously. You only need to continue with patience and without expectation, and in time new areas of expanded consciousness will emerge.
