Spiritually Overwhelmed.

Yes, that is certainly possible and even common at some point in our spiritual journey.  When St. Paul had the vision of Jesus, he fell down and was actually blinded for days. There are many of saints and other spiritual aspirants who in one way or another were overwhelmed or incapacitated physically, mentally and emotionally when their divine, unconditioned self was revealed to their small ego self. It is a lot to process and the initial impact can be hard to assimilate right away. But eventually the spiritual experience does get integrated into your life and instead of being overwhelming, it becomes your core identity.
