Meditation Structure.
When your mind and heart are truly open abundance will flow to you effortlessly and easily.
Question:
Dear Deepak, I have a question about setting up a meditation practice. I know you advocate meditating twice a day for 30 minutes each time. I’ve also read about several different approaches to meditation that you describe. For example, the “healing meditation,” meditating just on a mantra, using sutras, setting intentions, chakras, meditating on the heart, etc. My question is how to divide each 30 minute meditation period. For example, is it best to meditate on a mantra for 10 minutes and then do one or more of the other approaches? Or should the whole 30 minutes be devoted to a mantra meditation? I like the different approaches; I’m just not sure how to incorporate them all into a practice. Thank you.
Response:
I believe the priority in a meditation practice is the time our awareness can simply BE, self-aware and resting in its own existence. For that, mantra meditation is most effective, therefore, I would recommend doing 20 minutes of silent mantra meditation twice a day, and then fitting in the other practices as you like afterwards.
Love,
Deepak
