Ego’s Existence.

Question:
If the Ego is so wrong, why does the EGO exist? Ego must have a purpose in our lives, may be an important one, otherwise, why is it so crucial and critical to get rid of it? Then, why do we have Ego?
Response:
We need an ego as a structure to integrate and make sensory experience personal. Without an ego, there would be no sense of personal identity. The ego is not “wrong” it is an essential part of our humanity. What is required is that we correct the mistake of the unawakened ego that identifies itself with the content of sensory experience rather than the higher self.
