Divine Light.

Question:
Divine light in the mantra translation, “I open my awareness to the divine light that unifies and underlies everything”, is this an actual light that we can see/experience in meditation? Or is it some kind of metaphor?
Response:
Divine light is not photon-based, visible electromagnetic spectrum light, but is it the light of awareness that makes what was previously unnoticed, unknown and foreign, seen, understood and intimate. So it is like light in that we can spiritually see and understand with it.
