Confusion About Concentrating in Meditation.
When your mind and heart are truly open abundance will flow to you effortlessly and easily.
Question:
I intend to practice meditation but I couldn’t concentrate. Please guide me how to practice for the meditation to achieve best results?
Response:
A simple meditation you can do if you don’t have access to a qualified instructor is to practice breath awareness meditation. Sit comfortably with the eyes closed, and let your attention be with your in breath and your out breath. Then after a moment or so, silently think the sound “so” with the inhalation and the sound “hum” with the exhalation. Don’t force the mind to stay with the breath and the sounds, it should be easy, comfortable and relaxed. Your aim is not to concentrate, but to give it an opportunity to let go and transcend thought altogether and experience its true nature. When your mind wanders, (and it will) don’t worry, just gently return your attention to the breath. Don’t feel bad about having distracting thoughts, thoughts are not bad, they are a necessary part of the mind and body settling down and then clearing old conditioning and then settling back down again. That is the basic cycle of correct meditation.
