Does language matter when you pray / chant? Since bhakti is a sacred emotion, should you pray in Sanskrit only or Indian languages or English?
Response:
When you pray or offer gratitude, what is important is the clarity of feeling and intention, so the language in which you express your ideas and emotions most easily will be more effective. In general, this holds true for most cases of chanting as well. But there are instances where chanting in an ancient language like Sanskrit, Hebrew or Latin can be an important feature of effectiveness because the sounds of the words
