Ask Deepak

Buddhism.

Quote.

When your mind and heart are truly open abundance will flow to you effortlessly and easily.

Question:

I have a question about Buddhism. How is it possible to feel love for somebody and at the same time believe that that person is an illusion, and belief that the love is an illusion? Because Buddha says that everything you can touch or think of is an illusion.

Response:

Buddhism doesn’t say that love is an illusion. It says that believing that you and everything in the world are isolated, separate things is an illusion. The illusion of separation is created by the ego mind which doesn’t know life as one, holistic reality. The essence of love is that connect to another that the underlying truth of our unity. Buddhism recognizes that this love is real, and that compassion is real—not illusory.

Love,

Deepak
