I am a HUGE believer, that it does take a village to raise a child!...I do believe, that in societies, where raising children is a family/community team work (such as India or Eastern Europe),children are more healthier mentally and emotionally, and so are elderly. If you think about it, adults in child bearing age, are full of energy,plans,ideas..They are working on expressing themselves via career goals, passions, hobbies ect. Often, they feel overwhelmed, going from feeling guilty to feeling overworked... Elderly ,on the other end,are done with all of that!..They are not rushing anywhere:)Their energy is slowing down, they have more time to listen, more patience to teach,to play...They also feel as they belong, they are important,by doing that...So,IS a little child, who is nurtured and loved!!!Aunts and uncles are also more love to a child by the way:) Grandparents must be part of child's life!! They have way more wisdom! NOW,don't take me wrong, grandparents are for nurturing, but all rules and decisions making should be on parents! Mutual respect is a key to a team work in raising happy, well balanced human being! Yes,this is very much possible, if we just all CHOOSE to get alone!

It doesn't seem like this would be a particularly gendered issue. What do the dads out there have to say? Do you struggle with balance?
