Self-Discovery and Selfishness.

Quote.

When your mind and heart are truly open abundance will flow to you effortlessly and easily.

Question:

I’m 19 years old, and have been feeling that I need to take stock as I begin a new phase in my life. I have a desire to start respecting myself and my body in everything I do, most importantly with what I decide to put in my body. I have been a vegetarian for almost 3 years, but I do want to learn more about nutrition, detoxification, etc. I’ve also been evaluating myself spiritually, so I guess one could say that I’m on a path towards self-discovery. However, I can’t shake the feeling that I’m being selfish by focusing so much on myself… after all, what good does my self-discovery do anyone in the world but myself?

Response:

What you are learning about nutrition and spirituality for your own benefit, will no doubt prove to be useful in helping others later in life. Even if you do not go into the health profession or into the field of self-improvement, the knowledge that you have gained and learned through your own experience will surely be of great use to those around you. You need not worry that you are being selfish as you begin your journey of self-discovery. All that anyone has to offer others has to start from what they have developed in themselves.

Love,

Deepak
