Emptiness.

Quote.

When your mind and heart are truly open abundance will flow to you effortlessly and easily.

Question:

Dear Deepak, I’m 27, have a job, a lot of support from my parents and a strong bond with friends, but I’ve had this feeling of emptiness since ten years ago. I was in school at the time and don’t remember any incidence which should lead to such a feeling. Every now and then it comes back. I feel as if I lost someone in my previous birth. I’ve felt attraction for many guys but haven’t been in love or any relationship ever. To add to it, my dog died last month, and I can’t take my mind off it. I still cry at night or whenever I’m alone. I have talked to my mother and sister about this feeling. They think that marriage might be the solution. I don’t know if I’m ready for marriage yet. It’s just that I don’t want to start a relationship with the unhappiness that I have inside me. Please help me clear my mind—what can I do to stop feeling unhappy?

Response:

As long as you are carrying around this grief and feeling of desolation, marriage will not be a solution. It will only compound the problem and unhappiness. Your priority now should be to heal your grief. It may difficult for you to get a handle on when it is not clear what is the underlying source of this feeling of loss is about. Even so, you can get the help of a therapist who can guide you to the source feelings and work to release them from your body. When you have cleared this emptiness in your heart, you will then be ready for a relationship.

Love,

Deepak
