Emotional Disconnection.
When your mind and heart are truly open abundance will flow to you effortlessly and easily.
Question:
I have been feeling emotionally disconnected from friends and family members for some time.
I have never displayed much emotion as it is. I go through the motions of greeting family members with a kiss and hug and being in their company. I contribute and attend family events, yet through it all I feel no emotion or connection. I would not say that I feel uncomfortable with this non- emotion I am just very aware of it.
I have spiritual practices which I do daily like chanting a mantra, simply being in the moment and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) which has truly turned my emotional life around. This has left me with an inner peace and calm most of the time. Does acquiring a regular state of peace and calm somehow circumvents the emotions and they take a back seat to that peace and calm?
Response:
It’s easy to assume that the sense of inner peace and calm you feel from your spiritual practice is making you unconnected and non-emotional. It could be, but that is not necessarily the case. There’s no way to know for sure based on the little you have mentioned.
Sometimes, it does happen that when your life makes a quantum shift to a more subtle and quieter level of awareness, then your emotions also become much softer and gentler. The contrast of these calmer feelings to your previously more extroverted and dramatic expression of emotion can be so pronounced that it may be mistaken for not feeling anything. But in fact, this subtler emotional state is really based on stronger and deeper feelings than the superficial behavior usually associated with emotional people.
