What is the best time to meditate?.

Question:

Hi Deepak, You spoke about meditation in the morning. But should people do meditation during day? Can you give me some practical techniques or exercises? Can I do some yoga for 10-20 minutes to calm down?

 

Response:

A good routine is to meditate in the morning for 20 minutes or so, then meditate again in the afternoon before dinner for another 20 minutes. Doing some yoga asanas for 5-10 minutes before you meditate is an excellent idea. It helps clear away some of the excess tension and fatigue in the body so that meditation can settle in more deeply. Five minutes of easy pranayama, alternate nostril breathing, is also a good way to ease into meditation.
