Don't mix these thoughts up with nihilism, What entity you are referring to, in his words will remain as a vague quantum soup( which is consciousness itself- which is all there is). And this will differentiate(or take form) into what you are calling 'an entity to be observed by all these different receptors'. It is really a pity that majority of people so easily dismiss these ideas only because they haven't deeply and carefully investigated into them.
