Ask Deepak

Not Blaming Oneself.

Quote.

When your mind and heart are truly open abundance will flow to you effortlessly and easily.

Question:

Today I am studying the Law of Least Effort, which seems particularly appropriate for me at this time. I understand that responsibility means not blaming anyone or anything for my situation, but I don’t understand not blaming myself. If I create my karma, how is it that my situation isn’t my responsibility? How can I not blame myself? If you can make me understand this, I will be forever grateful! I can’t tell you how much Seven Spiritual Laws means to me. Thank you for your wisdom and guidance.

Response:

You can still take responsibility for your life and actions without blaming yourself. Responsibility in a spiritual context is different than the ego centric sense of responsibility where we identify ourself with our actions and consequences. To be spiritually responsible is the same as being present, and living in the moment. We accept reality as we find it in our present experience without trying to escape to the past or future. That is taking responsibility without blame. We are all doing the best we can with our present knowledge, ability and state of consciousness. There is no blame in that. Recognize that you cannot change the future or past. It is only in the present moment that you are free to act.

Love,

Deepak
