Duality.

Quote.

When your mind and heart are truly open abundance will flow to you effortlessly and easily.

Question:

Everywhere we see duality in everything:  “+” and  “–“ poles of a magnet, day and night, IF1I = -IF2I, etc., etc. Doesn’t this mean that there should be two kinds of souls on this earth: “+” and “–“ which means: divine and evil, and we just should accept this, regardless of how unpleasant this is emotionally?

Doesn’t this mean that at the end everything comes to the point where to know a person means to know who he serves: good or evil?

Doesn’t this mean that to be enlightened means to accept both, choose your path, and live in harmony with that awareness of both sides of the reality (or truth)?

Response:

There are viewpoints like yours that accept duality as an absolute. And from a dualistic point of view, your idea makes sense. Although if reality were fundamentally divided, what could be the basis in consciousness for even comprehending that dualistic reality, if consciousness itself wasn’t inclusive of both?

There are holistic, non-duality traditions such as Vedanta, Taoism, and Buddhism that point to an experience of consciousness that lies in the still point between those opposites, which is their transcendental unifying source. This foundational experience is the very core of existence, the Self, or Atman, which is beyond qualities of good and bad, light and dark. Enlightenment is the constant awareness that your essence is the same essence that is in all creation and is the unqualified source from which all diversity springs.

Love,

Deepak
