  • Lol Gotham, to everyone his/her own app nowadays. No need to discuss anything anymore. Everyone can just pick their own choice. Live and let Live. Isn`t that what we`re all aiming at? Happy living in the App world!!!!

  • I do think they can and will go hand in hand eventually and technology can be used to help humanity evolve. For example, we know that when someone is in a certain emotional/mental state of gratitude, peace, bliss, genius etc, the brain/mind has a specific energetic frequency that can measured in MHZ etc. What if we can create a device that emits the frequency of high level consciousness in our home? It can be used as training wheels to help someone get to a specific frequency of thought spiritually. If they reach that frequency even if done with technological help, their brain will create the neuro connections and biochemicals relating to it and will now have a history of feeling it. It would be easier to create naturally after that... I often think of creating such devices and may some day...

  • Man-made can never replace the vital connections in the natural world that we need to connect with Divine energy. Technology puts a buffer between that and the natural self and prevents the more difficult work of finding it within.

  • It depends from person to person. Technology could be like a guru or like a yantra on the path of spiritualism and on the same time it could be a source of distraction for a yogic mind. Its depends upon how person conceives it.

  • At a Thai temple last year about to be blessed by a monk when his cell phone rang. Had to wait for him to finish the call... Direct line to Buddha, maybe?

  • Although technology is a means to get any message across to more people, nothing beats the direct connection between people, the direct guidance that most religion is missing these days. Technology is convenience but it cannot feel or sense the feelings of others. We can chat on-line or leave messages for others using technology but can you really be vested in a friendship or have a truly deep relationship with someone that has never held your hand? Can we truly know God through something as cold as technology? I think not. I truly prefer to feel something, to connect directly with people, to get into their energy and share mine. That energy is a small piece of God and needs to be shared, not through wires and circuits but directly with others.

  • Guess so because most are already using it in services with powerpoints, music videos, internet, light shows, and for their praise and worship.

  • the rumor is there is a plan to block "esoteric teachings in cyberspace" ~~only time will tell...but then what comes to my mind..is telepathic communication may be the order of the day...and pure consciousness is also part of what we are all being connected to...so then whatever unfolds I just trust everything will be in divine order.

  • Technology and Religion do not interact: Religion has been STUCK in first gear for thousands of years, whereas Technology has been evolving day by day! Besides, Religion utilizes Technology to Proselytize its own Dogma!

  • I feel like phones, the Internet, and technology in general have become a synthetic means for man to communicate within larger, more expansive networks. Somewhat like giving a heart cell a means to understand how it can best serve the needs of the organ at large (which is comprised of millions of other cells). In the same way, technology has given a single person a means to interact with a huge network of people from their job, friends, and fellow students all without the wasted time of tracking that person down (wherever they might be), just to access their information. In fact, the information you provided in your link would have stayed within a small group of individuals if it weren't for Facebook and the wide spread availability of the Internet. What do you think Deepak?

  • the light up billboard outside the local church says a lot about spirituality ... including "god expects spiritual fruits...not religious nuts" and "wal-mart isn't the only place for savings on sundays" so i say yes... technology does have a place and so does humour

  • I believe like your dad that everything is Divine so therefore technology itself is a part of the Divine process. Posthuman/transhuman theory postulates that technology will become a part of the biological organism in the future. Michio Kaku is big on Futurology.

  • all these apps are taking away the true meaning of connecting with spirituality. i dont care about religions, if they want an app to confess their sins to or an app to pray towards mecca so be it, because religion isnt spirituality.... we should know better iphone, ipad etc are illuminati based technologies and they are trying to mock you all and take your information and make you work by where the information is

  • hmmm... LOL..methinks it`s a double-edged sword.. my take is... .ppl not being able to give directions anymore or calculate or spell due to the heavy reliance on technology. then ppl not being able to do anything w/o their cell phone, and think it`s ok to talk on phone while interacting with others...the good things are obvious

  • Hey Gotham..This is one of my favorites from the Chopra Well! You should look into some of the New UFO/Alien Religions that have become surprisingly popular such as Allies Of Humanitie, Salusa, Nasara ,Alien contactee Sheldon Nidle,Galactic Federation of Light ,Urantia Book...channeler Bushar it is fascinating and even funny the way these religions pop up and even funnier how people from established religions act like it is so bizarre.I am spiritual but I donot subscribe to any dogma ! Thanks !
