  • That`s great that you visited the Chopra Center and was inspired to start a meditation practice! If you`re in needed of a little refresher or a boost to that motivation, we recommend the following: work through the videos in our Meditator series, get a copy of Deepak`s new book "Super Brain" to learn ways of focusing the mind, and look into participating in one of the Chopra Center`s online programs.   • i need to meditate A LOT with the meditation technique i learned at the chopra center. I clean a lot and love minimalism. Clutter really bothers me, so much so that I have been unable to step into certain ppl`s homes. //I like Alphacat a lot, he`s assertive and is v authentic to me. 108 is a secret Upanishad number lol ;-). how do i resume my good meditation habits where i got motivated to do them like at the chopra center recently?

  • Salaam brother, What am I doing wrong me? I was very much into yoga and meditation as well as working towards healthy and now most of my joints have become inflammed and I have water on.my lungs I was not able to walk our use my hands without pain and now I an on steroid that has helped greatly however it may effect my bones and thin my hair and skin. I feel I am in a worst place them ever before when it comes to this body. My mind it's much calmer and peaceful especially after eating much more raw food. Before this I was practising yoga for my my.joints and now I feel I don't want to do yoga again apart from breathing. I realise the pain was an indication of healing but it was hard to stay of medication. Now I feel I'm have gone against natural healing because I could not just witness the sensations without identifying with. Now my mind is mostly blank and I don't no what to do, I find myself saying I dont no al what has happened to me? I feel so Lost.

  • i dont think he sat it our for religious reasons..i think he just didnt feel up to all the standing and bowing, kinda like in highschool when you went to gym class on a day you just felt like chilling out and saw that they were going to have you play touch football or some ish, and you`re just like. nah. im not participating today. i`ll just sit over here and watch or read my book. he just was not feeling it. thats all....at least thats what i took from what he said.

  • It is beautiful to see in this video that working in a garden, sweeping dirt together, and doing Zen push ups will give the same result. Doing the dishes concentrated on a spoon or a fork or a cup or whatever gives the same result. It is always about persevering a practice that results in perfect art. The art of living can be found in what your own imagination can come up with...

  • I can understand you Aphacat for backing out, but meditation doesn`t necessary have something to do with religion. At frist I would have the same reaction as you but then I tried it and it`s just the way to stop thinking, like to get your brain some rest. :-) Just like our body needs some rest, after a good sleep we feel refreshed, it`s the same with our brain, after a good meditation we should feel lighter and refreshed. :-)

  • The video`s naming on Zen (from China, I think) and Iman`s mention of dharma (from India, I think) hint at the immense depth and breadth of the subjects that couldn`t be presented in a single short video. It`s not surprising that Iman & Natalie had some discomfort with specific rituals of devotion, especially ones that are not directly helpful to people. I think of devotion as dedicated caring for a challenged child, or an elderly person with dementia, or (as Iman says) simply doing chores.

  • The thing is that after doing the same action repeatedly, even when you start feeling tired, the body just keeps going on! Like when you go trekking and synchronize your breathing to the number of steps you take, that way you can actually walk for hours! I haven`t done this exersice per se, but I did take a yoga class where you had to do 108 sun salutations one after the other; I didn`t think I could do them all, but the body is so amazing that once you start, things just flow :)
