  • Religion is for people that don`t want to go to hell and spirituality is for people who have been there.

  • Experience of my authentic deeper self has been the trigger for me to lead a life of acceptance and gratitude. Does mean you still encounter difficulties and challenges but you know deep inside they cannot affect you in your inner core! That`s the real meaning of being in this world but not of it. I`ve now experienced it again with very tragic events of a father and a mother, both 80 years old, loosing two of their sons at once because of a sudden tragical accident. The father has been given up by medical doctors because of a severe cancer throughout his body. He told me today how he is going through a horrific tragedy, having to experience this and his own illness. But looking deeply into his eyes I was able to see his acceptance of all this as a kind of learning school. That`s why I see it as my purpose in life: keep learning with every step you take but never forget where you originally came from...His wife knows it too and she is soo strong...

  • Paco! Try updating your flash player or using Chrome. The video is from Vimeo and it works fine. You also might have a problem if you are not being in the US.

  • Nicely phrased. We get misguided way to often by people interpreting the truth. Church and state might be separated, but their tactics are the same.

  • Religion is a type of road map to our spiritual center! Without Spirituality there would be no need for religion.

  • So to dumb it down.. spirituality is recognizing the self and is based on your own experiences and religion is control and even takin away that spirituality

  • am in total agreement with what Deepak said in the video, although i would never have been able to explain it that way. The simplest way I am able to explain the difference between religion and spirituality is that religion is an attempt of/by outside forces to put something into you, whereas spirituality is the truth at you core, and if you live from that truth, it is called integrity.

  • It is strange that people say that religion is not equal to spirituality yet what we follow as spirituality is the teachings of these religious leaders, Buddha was where Buddhism as a religion came from, The Aryan Rishis is where Sanathan dharm where Vedanta comes from, Jesus Christ brought Christianity, Abraham/Moses brought Judaism as well as the beginners of Islam. All these are extremely spiritual enlightened souls who we can never ever equate ourselves or reach the heights to unless we get to that state of contemplation. We should not confuse religion with the doctrines and dogma with which some people want to manipulate their membership/community create what is fear of non-conformance. With our own spirituality we are taught to be tolerant how could we not be tolerant towards what is the religious beliefs of others. I cannot understand this.

  • Spirituality and religion are NOT the same. One soothes the soul -the other, ego.

  • At the root/core of every religion is spirituality it is just shrouded in the doctrines and dogma.

  • It is so amazing that you should say this. I just posted on Super Soul Sunday on OWN, they were asking the question if you had an hour that you would want to spend with ANYONE then who would it be? My response was exactly this, I don`t really feel disconnected from anyone, if I want to give Oprah a hug when I am watching her talking I just do it right then send her vibrations of love, I know she does know that people adore her. Why do people think they are disconnected, or they have to see the person in person. I do the same with my son, if he is away from me visiting his Dad I just think of him, like I am hugging him tightly and sure enough within a few minutes to a few hours if not the next day he will call me or send me a text message talking about totally irrelevant things that had no relation to why he should text message me right then. I think "fanatical" followers of their religion have put a spin on it so that it becomes something that is dogmatic so that people are controlled with fear agree with your observation totally. At the core of every religion the spirituality in the religion exists. All religious leaders/saints/seers whatever we may call them like Moses, Jesus Christ, Mohammad, Abraham, Buddha, Rishis used the same method contemplation to reach their absolute truths, so what they are all connected back to the same "ONE Consciousness". Their teachings maybe more relevant to the group that they are addressing more relevant to the generation/tribe they are addressing. The people that don`t go back to this path of contemplation seem to be lost, leave alone that I see that they are the ones that are more turbulent, restless and not at peace with their being.

  • They are very different. Relgion has some spiritual components.. and can teach people some things about spirtuality..but spirituality is a higher form..of communication..and a higher form of connecting with that which connects us all.

  • Unlike religion, spirituality IS NOT a set of rules. I`d rather be spiritual.
