Exclusive: Deepak Chopra Aims To Set World Record

Deepak Chopra told me today that he plans to set the Guinness Record for the world’s largest meditation gathering next month. It’s the first such attempt at a title Guinness says requires 15,000 participants.

Calling from his Southern California headquarters in Carlsbad, the best-selling author and highly paid New Age thinker, as always, has even loftier goals: “We would love to have two million people around the world join us.”

The effort takes place Friday, August 8, at noon EST on the final day of Chopra’s annual meditation event called the Seduction of Spirit. Although only around 300 participants are expected in person with Chopra at the session in Toronto, many more will likely attend virtually via live stream.
