  • Actually, to increase metabolism one should split up caloric intake into multiple, smaller, meals. The goal is actually to space calories out so that input is steady and the body behaves in a way that it would when there is an excess of food; burning more calories in comparison to the total ingested. The goal is in fact to NOT feel hungry, but to keep the hunger just barely satisfied to the point where the metabolism ramps up, yet the total net of calories burned to those ingested is shifted in favor of weight loss. It's a simple matter of understanding not only how the body works, but how we evolved to survive and exploiting that.

I'm skinny now and eat cheese and meat and chocolate and croissants. Before I tried to be Too healthy with all vegetables, tofu, etc. and was starving. And fatter.

  • You have to overcome and resolve all of the feelings first. I used to be hungry all day. I would have been 400# if I ate whenever I truly felt hungry. And it felt like physical hunger.   • I think this a lot better advice then "don't eat between meals, ignore that you are hungry." For one, eating three meals a day is not necessarily the most natural way to eat. For another thing, its unhealthy advice for those who have anemia like myself. Any advice that puts changing your weight over changing your health is dangerous.

  • I only eat after I get hungry and because I'm alkaline and eat super foods, I only get hungry about 10 - 11 AM. I also eat light in the morning. Maybe that's because I fasted at a place that did this when I was 19 for 21 days on water because I was dyeing and this is what saved me. Now, if I have to go on for hours without eating and want to eat, my body immediately starts to use stored food. I can do this, but I would not recommend this to other people unless you are healthy and have done this before.
