Perception of Reality

Category:  Deepak Quotes

Every one of the five senses can be twisted to deliver a completely different picture of the world. If by picture we mean sight, sound , smell, taste and texture of things, a troubling conclusion looms. Apart from the very unreliable picture running inside the brain, we have no proof that reality is anything like what we see.

  • Well, if so, why don`t each of us truly makes his/her own reality then? What stops us? You can debate endlessly, give quotes endlessly. People agree with you and just go on living their life. And it probably unfolds exactly how it should be. We can only react on it or not......

  • Ok I'm thirsty .... Wouldn't mind a slushy:) that would make me happy :) maybe a mango one or even a five fruit tingle to make my 5 senses tingle.... Thats the perspective i need right now....:) And as i walk down the street i hope i find change in the drain so i can buy my neighbour one too.... Thats what my five senses tell me ....

  • The paradox-al paradigm permeates the realms of the obscured thus inhibiting reality to manifest in the presence of beingness.Only through perceptual introspection can I find my car keys.

  • In addition to the five senses I think you have to layer in the unreliability of emotion to perceptions of reality.

  • I just read that this morning! This is an amazing book. Wouldn't it be true that individual, perceived reality IS our reality regardless of what the "true" reality may be? Even if red is actually blue, it is constant in our minds eye.

  • In fact what we see is only our perception, as others will perceive the same things differently. Our brains make decisions based on energy and experience and so the lower the energy the less we see. It's Newton's third law of motion, every force in nature has an equal but opposite reaction. Increase your energy and be truly free, as you discover truth of your surroundings and obtain an understanding to the meaning of LIFE and LOVE. - Anthony

  • "As that word "mine" indicates, ownership implies an attachment of things to self. The more we own, the more we are. The constellation of me and mine grows. But no matter how large the discrete and separate self grows, it is still far smaller than the self of the hunter-gatherer. The pre-separation mind is able to affirm, all at once and without contradiction, "I am this body," "I am this tribe," "I am the jungle," "I am the world." No matter how much of the jungle we control, we are smaller than the one who knows, "I am the jungle." No matter how dominant we are socially, we are far less than one who knows, "I am my tribe." And far less secure, too, because all of these appendages to our tiny separate selves may be easily sundered from us. We are therefore perpetually and irremediably insecure. We go to great lengths to protect all these accessories of identity, our possessions and money and reputations, and when our house is burglarized, our wallet stolen, or our reputation besmirched, we feel as if our very selves have been violated." - Charles Eisenstein, The Ascent of Humanity Read the whole chapter (or the entire book) for free online: http://www.ascentofhumanity.com/chapter4-1.php

  • My secret for removing bad thoughts and demons from your everyday thinking. Play a song you like over and over. At home, in the car. For several days. You will have that song in your head, note for note, and you will block out the bad thoughts till they no longer are in your conciousness. Try it.

  • Some people make it sound like I need to fear anyone from another country. I didn't used to think I needed to fear any of them. I thought they were just people from another geographical location. With the wars and negative stories in the news, I wonder if I was wrong. I thought people were good.
