Letting Go of Ego

I've been learning about how letting go of my ego will ultimately have a better outcome on my life and the things that happen to me, but if I am letting go of my ego with the intention of experiencing better things, isn't that my ego?

It is the ego if there is an expectation attached to the desire to feel better and then is frustrated if it doesn’t happen as planned. But don’t make this a complicated issue. Letting go of the illusion of control is just learning to trust in the wisdom of life.

I agree with you Shannon. The Ego is more or less the autonome nerve system in our body entangled in four main forces: gravity, electro-magnetic energy, strong force and weak force. \nUntil we are able to completely die to them it will not let go...\nQuestion is: are women allowed to have ego? Or are they simply here to produce offspring and educate them in their natural egoless way?

Sometimes. It depends on your intention and heart. Think about the others and you. If you find a balance, that is probably a good starting point. The fact you are aware of too much ego, and you are searching is also a good starting point.

Work on purifying your ego. You will always have an ego just as a shadow. Let it be as your shadow and don`t cast a light over it.

One thing about finding your spiritual footing is that once you begin that journey, you begin to recognize how the ego only a part of your makeup. It becomes easier to recognize from a deeper level how your ego stands in the way of enlightenment. You may notice that as you gain insight into life`s mysteries, the ego will step into the picture and declare itself a master of knowledge. This is when you truely need to check the ego, because the ego has absolutely no esteem in the world of spirituality.
