Work and Spiritual Progress.

Quote.

When your mind and heart are truly open abundance will flow to you effortlessly and easily.

Question:

I have recently began my working career, and I am struggling with the long working days that seem to bring me very little fulfillment and happiness. Throughout the working day I often feel empty and most days this feeling comes home with me. I have committed myself to a take on journey to spiritual enlightenment, but find it hard to stay on track while I am at work. I have found that my long days at my desk job often drain the spiritual progress I have made out of me. I know that I will soon make a large life change and leave this job, but until I can do that, what are some exercises I can practice while at work to make my day feel more fulfilling?

Response:

Spiritual progress is the growing presence of self-awareness in the silence of your Being. It does not wax and wan according to your level of inspiration and motivation. So the lack of fulfillment and emptiness you feel in your career may indicate that your work is not engaging your full energies, but you should not interpret that to mean it is impeding your spiritual growth.

The whole point of self-realization is to shift your old ego identification away from seeing yourself defined by work, body, relationships, to your true spiritual self that is unconditioned by all these external associations. So until your work situation changes, don’t let your job circumstances define your spiritual progress.

Love,

Deepak
