Reconcile the Contradiction.
When your mind and heart are truly open abundance will flow to you effortlessly and easily.
Question:
How do you reconcile the contradiction between letting go of the pull of the ego and functioning in this society that measures success by outside achievements? For example, what if I need to pursue certain activities to succeed in my workplace but those activities are clearly ego driven (trying to get praise by others, so that you can provide that as evidence to supervisors).
Response:
Even though we are pursuing a spiritual journey, we still need to be practical and sensible about our life decisions and responsibilities. But those practical decisions can be made based on our internal values of compassion, fairness and honesty. Success doesn’t have to be driven by ego selfishness or society’s “me first” images of success. When you find what you enjoy doing, are good at and what helps others, then you are successful and simultaneously growing in self-awareness.
