It is with a heavy heart that I share with you today the news that Dr. David Simon has passed away. David has been my friend, partner, teacher, trusted colleague, and younger brother for more than twenty years. He has touched my heart, influenced the way I think, and expanded my spirit. David approached life from a place of pure potentiality and unlimited possibilities. His wisdom, courage, and love will continue to inspire all of us for decades to come.
The Sun Never Says
Even
after
all this time
the sun never says to the earth,
“You owe me.”
Look
what happens
with a love like that —
It lights the whole world.
As a talented physician and author, loving father, husband, and dear friend, David shared his unique gifts with the world. Through his dedication and authenticity, he helped so many people go beyond their limited perspective of themselves and reconnect to the love, joy, and peace of their true selves.
I have felt privileged to work closely with David for many years, and I am grateful that we have had the opportunity to develop seminars, retreats, and programs on mind-body healing and spirituality. While David, as he would put it, has now let go of his temporary human disguise to merge again with the unbounded ocean of consciousness, the gifts that he gave so freely during his life will continue to benefit and inspire everyone he touched through his words, wisdom, and heart.

A week ago I received Mantras & Mandalas in the mail. Being a hospice volunteer I showed particular interest in Mahmarityunjaja Meditative Chant, the death defying chant, with David Simon. I meditated daily with this chant until the morning of January 30 because I had family visiting from January 30 - February 1. The song played repeatedly in my thoughts throughout the day until morning of January 31. On February 3rd I heard about David Simons death and had no idea he was going through the dying process during this time. Coincidence or Synchronicity? I thank David for the gift ~ Namaste

Sorry for your loss Deepak, Your friend will always be in your heart, and his words in your head. It takes awhile to get over the pain of not seeing them on earth again, but you will definiatly meet up later. I`m sure the next time you watch the SunSet you will be with him.

Although I did not meet David in person, his essence truly touched my heart and soul. May all of you who knew him and loved him, be at peace and treasure all of the love infused moments that you shared with him. He had a great spirit. I weep for his family and friends. My dear Deepak, In the mystery of mysteries there is no death... and yet, words seem to have no meaning when faced with the loss of a loved one, specially when we are talking about someone like Simon whose gifts of courage, wisdom, compassion and generosity stand bigger than life. In the heartbreak of my "losses" I find deep confort knowing that in truth we never leave, captured by an ocean of love, seeking us in the silence of spirit. There is a poem by Aeoliah called Angel Love, which is of great relevance in my life and I would like to share with you, trusting the impulse in my heart... In the stillness of the night I come to you In the morning silence I swim in the beauty of your light The long hours that pass between us Seem only as mere shadows of a passing dream With each breath a new star is born To add to the light of the universe In the deepest stillness can I hear what I so much wanted To touch inside you and feel within myself A radiant presence without the veil Shining forth omnipotent streams of crystal rainbow light I wish not to alter the delicate beauty of this golden light nor disturb the fragance essence by trying to capture it It can only remain when I hold it in my heart I can only then live truly free And than we hold the key... I am still in shock from the news, specially when Simon has been particularly present in my awareness in this last year and on the 28th I went to his site "Love for David" and decided to copy and paste his insights on the Law of Darma and the 7 keys to empower our intentions, as a guiding force to manifest soul projects I feel deeply challenged at times. I am profoundly grateful to have connected with the treasure of David`s insights so deeply just before he passed on, as if letting me know he will always be with us in spirit, as the timeless guiding force that he is. May God take you in the palm of His hand and confort you as well as David`s loved ones, specially his wife and children.

What beauty of grace and compassion Dr. Simon walked as he gave those around him the opportunity to witness and learn from his journey - passing from physical form to divine spirit. In this way he continued to live his purpose of teaching, healing, of offering his light to all. May you his brother - his life friend, his family, friends, and the many who shared the one conciousness with him, may all receive the balm of comfort as the loss of a physical incarnation is grieved and a new form of relationship with this loved one is embraced. One that now dwells solely in the many hearts, in the many memories, and in the dharma of his life gifted for all. This new relationship wholly (holy), whole, and of spirit. Namaste
