Expressing Irritability
Category: Ask Deepak
Question:Read article and comment
Dear Dr. Chopra, normally I am a calm, peace-loving girl who loves to contemplate over spiritual matters and the like. However, as of late I've been feeling more and more irritable, even with those whom I care about. I don't want to end up becoming like the archetypal "Mr. Scrooge" in today's world, since I know I am very much capable of loving and caring for others (not to mention I'm afraid of loneliness); but it seems that my desperate attempts to calm myself down are in vain. What should I do?

To live in joy is to live in simplicity and be open to the contents of ones own experience. Let Nature be my guide, inside and outside, seasonal wisdom, my inner sanctum...

Shadow Effect
Category: Ask Deepak
Question:Read article and comment
This Christmas I have read the Shadow Effect - Thank you very much for a wonderful book. Tell me now: Is the shadow only in the personality? Or, does it affect the soul (Causal body, Buddhi, Atma)... even the Monad?

Loving Yourself

Question:Read article and comment
How do I learn to love myself? Where do I start?

I think the "how to" of loving oneself is similar to loving others. As one detaches from the sense of self or ego, and has lesser expectation and lesser self aggrandizement, we will be less harsh on ourselves, and learn to love who we are the way we are. The article on how to cope with hatred @ http://spritualitynmanagement.blogspot.in/2012/02/how-to-cope-with-person-you-hate.html might be relevant here

My way of meditation is writing my own thoughts. It deletes the clutter in my head. It tells me positives and negatives.

Comment See all commentsVery insightful and relevant feedback from Deepak (as usual), but this particularly touched me because I, too, struggle with "forgiving" myself of imperfections. I work constantly towards a fuller acceptance of my self and the key is non-judgement.
