Overcoming Painful Memories
Category: Ask Deepak
Question:Read article and comment
What is the best way to get over painful memories, or to get over bad things that have happened in the past? Or to forget people who have changed on you, and believe you to be a bad person but they really do not know the truth about you and that you are a good person. That you try and stick to God's ways even if you are not the best devotee. How do you move on from not thinking about people who have betrayed you and look at you as you betrayed them because they refuse to believe the truth?

Expressing Irritability
Category: Ask Deepak
Question:Read article and comment
Dear Dr. Chopra, normally I am a calm, peace-loving girl who loves to contemplate over spiritual matters and the like. However, as of late I've been feeling more and more irritable, even with those whom I care about. I don't want to end up becoming like the archetypal "Mr. Scrooge" in today's world, since I know I am very much capable of loving and caring for others (not to mention I'm afraid of loneliness); but it seems that my desperate attempts to calm myself down are in vain. What should I do?

Very insightful and relevant feedback from Deepak (as usual), but this particularly touched me because I, too, struggle with "forgiving" myself of imperfections. I work constantly towards a fuller acceptance of my self and the key is non-judgement.

This shadow side is a new aspect for me, even though I covered it when reading C G Jung. Previously, I used to think I was a bad person. Now I consider it to be my previously unknown shadow side.

To live in joy is to live in simplicity and be open to the contents of ones own experience. Let Nature be my guide, inside and outside, seasonal wisdom, my inner sanctum...

Shadow Effect
Category: Ask Deepak
Question:Read article and comment
This Christmas I have read the Shadow Effect - Thank you very much for a wonderful book. Tell me now: Is the shadow only in the personality? Or, does it affect the soul (Causal body, Buddhi, Atma)... even the Monad?

Comment See all commentsWith due respect to Deepak`s words of wisdom... The important thing is to BELIEVE in yourself. If you have doubts about yourself then what others seem to think about you will matter to you and you will be drowned in hurt. If you know you are right, you should believe it. Also as Deepak says, anchor yourself in the present - live each moment to the best of your ability, focus on it, then your memories of the past (or doubts about the future) will not find a place in your thoughts. When you live each moment to its best you automatically fulfill your duty to yourself and to the Universe of which you (and your ill-wishers!) are an integral part. Accept the wrongs that you feel have been done to you. Accept them and move on. There`s really nothing else that you can do. If the Universe`s balance has been upset by those `wrongs` it`ll automatically correct the balance. Good luck with your life
