    Surrender or Keep Pushing

    Category:  Ask Deepak

    Question:

Dear Deepak, I have written a very negative letter to my brother. I wrote it in anger. I accused him of ruining my relationship with my mother. I still feel that my accusations are accurate. I have run this through my mind over and over. I feel these things had to Question: Dear Deepak, I am so tired and angry because my will and desire are often not aligned to what God has planned for me. How to be sure if I need to surrender/let go of a hope/dream and how to know if I need to keep pushing and not give up? I've tried yoga and meditation but I can't find that peace/ holy be said, but I feel remorse and regret. I feel that maybe I could have written with more diplomacy. Sadly, I feel like I made things worse!, what should I do?

    • I am happy to read such simplicity of truth, in both question and response. To be able to acknowledge the truth of the letter wrote in anger and to seek truth for how to move forward is the best thing one can do, next to following such good advice. It is OK to not know what to do, and it is OK to make mistakes, what you do next is what matters the most. And seeking the truth will always be your best choice. And if you follow the truths that reveal to you, you will discover that when you strip yourself and your brother of all your stories and bare your naked souls, he loves you more than you could imagine and you love him more than you know. As a friend I have yet to become aquainted with, Byron Katie would probably say can you truely know what your brothers intentions ever are without knowing his thoughts. And I would add likely your accusations are completely inaccurate if all you hold is a perception. Your perception is only part of a truth and alone is merely a lie. Strip these subtle lies we tell ourselves and the truth reveals itself. To my other friend, whom also I have yet to be aquainted with, I love your advice and wish to learn more or understand more your last sentence. As well, I do have an intuition about asking for forgiveness and I will enter a question following the format of this site so that I may receive a response. P.S. I am reading your book "The Third Jesus" with great joy and I am only at the end of part one.

    • I. Learnt trascedental meditation, and I did it twice a day during several months. However, it is so nice to spend time with my little, playing with her at the tie scheduled for my meditation and also to paint. I wonder if enjoying time with my lovings and paint, think that I like very much equals to MT?

    Diet and Sensitivity

    Category:  Ask Deepak

    Question:

Hi, Deepak. I have made a lot of changes to my diet, and have decided to live a more natural, chemical free life. I have noticed that since I have made these changes I have become increasingly sensitive. I have always been a sensitive person, but living in such an aware state amongst insensitive, desensitized, chemicalized "numb" souls has taken its toll and I actually feel sicker than ever, ironically. I do not feel well physically/mentally/emotionally. Do you have any advice as to how I can live the way I want, naturally and aware, and survive this world and shield myself from the energies around me, without cutting myself off from love and a feeling of togetherness and belonging?

    • What an epiphany for me! I too see myself as a sensitive soul facing emotional vampires wherever I go. So much that I have retreated from society to avoid exposure. When all I needed to do was change the way I see myself. Easier said than done, but still.. the knowledge is empowering. Thank you www.livingwithfibromyalgia.ca

    Giving Up

    Category:  Ask Deepak

    Question:

I suffer and have suffered from numerous traumatic experiences throughout the course of my life. I have sought help in therapy and have not been able to do the work that I need to do in a thorough and complete way. I saw one therapist for a long time and he was the best, now I have seen quite a few more, as he will not work with me anymore. I realize that you have said many times that suicide is not a means of ending life, and that it is a psychotic response. I feel so incredibly hopeless because the truth is that the time for me to have reversed and worked on my issues has expired. I will not be in any intimate relationships, I have used up all of my dreams and hopes, my past and its patterns have destroyed all possibilities. In this case would you think that physician assisted suicide is an alternative, if so do you think that the universe would understand my need to end the crippling pain?

    • So sorry to hear about your situation. I know society is ruthless and unforgiving and makes it seem like there are no outs, you are stuck where you are and your "sins" of the past have condemned you to a hopeless situation now. People can be very narrow-minded, judgmental and cruel in this respect, without looking in the mirror at themselves. But pay them no attention, as they do not know what they are talking about and they are of a lower vibration anyway. You must listen to your inner being, who loves you unconditionally and is not even of this realm, but connected to higher ones and would not even agree with you that the situation is hopeless now. use meditation CDs to help to clam you down, and pray incessantly, for all good and bad in your life. All you need is one out, and you are on the right path! The only way to go now is up and it is right around the corner, no matter how bleak things may appear; as this is only an illusion anyway. If your inner being says it, it must be so, period. There are no time limitations with your inner being. So please, go on.

    • The fact that this person already has the awareness that they want this healing to happen is a huge step and I hope they see this! You`ve already taken the first step on your path to healing...and there`s no reason to stop now

    Soulmate Stories

    Category:  Ask Deepak

    Question:

What I want to know is if there is really something called soulmates? I am asking this because I have gone through a very eventful life in this connection. For almost eight years I suffered from insomnia due to emotional turbulence related to a person I thought I didn't know too well. I used to almost go into altered states of consciousness and feel pain at the level of my soul. I went through a lot in this period to convince me that it is true. I think there is some deep karmic connection of our past lives and feel I have hurt this person a lot and hence it is coming back to me.

    • I too went through the same thing. It lasted nearly 5-6 years. Torture! What MK writes is true. To expand on that, the person I thought was my "soul-mate" was actually someone who I had emotionally and mentally attached myself to because I identified myself with him. I was obsessed. I did not know the man very well, but my experience with him affected my FALSE sense of self, my EGO. He (unknowingly) fed my ego, gave me a (false) sense of who I was. I thought, "We must be soulmates. This is who I am meant to be, I am to be his partner, soulmate, lover, everything, forever." "Loving" him (not sure that is what it was) gave me an identity! I was satisfying my false sense of self by doing that. I did not know my true self. I suggest doing research on the ego , how it is formed, how it makes us miserable and we do not know why. Your pain is self-inflicted. You can step out of it!

    • Mevlana Jalaleddin-i Rumi and Shems-i Tebrizi friendship could be a pure idealizitaion for the "soulmate" phenomenon, however this kind of relationship needs very high level awareness of mates. Simple men is just in a big illusion.

    Power of Influence

    Category:  Ask Deepak

    Question:

If I want something to happen in my life, how much influence do I actually have and what must I do to make it happen? Is it all in a predetermined order, or can I influence the outcome?

    • You can partly influence the outcome but can for instance not expect it to manifest immediately. If it is in line with your dharma it will eventually come into existence. Mostly when you have almost forgotten about it, it suddenly appears. It takes alertness in the moment to take advantage at the right moment......

    • That which you desire the source desires. You create each event in your life one brick or thought at a time. When there are enough bricks or thoughts created, your desire is manifested. The time it takes depends on your passion to have it. This may take weeks or years.
