    • It seems no one really understands what meditation is. The whole idea of learning meditative techniques reveals the fact most people have no clue. Meditation in the true sense is not something you can do consciously. So, the moment someone proclaims to teach you meditation it feels very suspect. What is important is to discover the truth of what meditation is by discovering what it is not. Perhaps then, that sacredness will awaken within you without any form of effort whatsoever. www.adonisalexander.org

    Revenge Dreams

Category:  Consciousness , Meditation , Ask Deepak

    Question:
If I dream repeatedly of revenging someone who wronged me a long time ago (though I thought I had forgiven, forgotten and moved on and never did consciously think of him), does it mean that the inner wounds were never healed? Is it a process of healing, through meditation, that these wounds are revived? How do we come to know that healing is complete? I started meditation about two years back and I had been feeling contented and happy till these dreams started.

    • Sometimes what you are dreaming now is actually a warning about something you may experience in the near future. Sometimes it is a way to use your memory to tell you that you are subconsciously dealing with a past experience that has manifested again. Repeating old habits, selecting friends, partners or lovers that seem to follow a pattern that is not good for you, for example. Your dream may be a way to show you what you need to change in order for you to be happy. The old wound may be healed, but your memory stores this information to protect you. If you burn your finger in a flame, with time the wound heals. But the memory of doing this remains, so the next time you see a flame you will be less likely to allow yourself to be burned. Take a close look at the people involved in your dream and see if you detect some characteristics in any of the important people that surround you. Chances are good that you will see a connection.

Headaches and Bad Moods After Meditation

Category:  Consciousness , Meditation , Spirituality , Ask Deepak

    Question:

I've been questioning God’s existence for a long time, then I heard your audiobook "How to Know God" and "Seven Spiritual Laws of Success" I'm strongly convinced about being our own source of power, I've been practicing silence and not judging, it's amazing!! However, sometimes after my silence practice, I feel really bad, headaches, dizziness and at some point the last two days I've felt even in horrible humour. There isn't any reason, during my meditation everything is going ok. My life is different, I look at people and feel an amazing love and tenderness. I'm asking this because I just can't find an explanation to this physical badness and bad humour episodes. What can I do? Thanks very much for your advice!!

Deepak Chopra leads meditation at occupy Wall Street

He led a two minute meditation with the General Assembly, a nightly meeting where the occupiers give updates on the protest, share plans and debate ideas. To allow everyone to hear the speaker without the use of bullhorns or electronic equipment (which are not allowed in the park), the occupiers repeat what the speaker says so that everyone else can hear. They call this the “people’s mic.”

    • If only all people could or would truly live their lives this way. However,as long as there are people in this world who are full of greed, insecurity and arrogance, the world will be as it is now, as it has been for thousands of years. Actually since we (humans) began walking upright. Greed causes wars. protests, anger and unhappy people. It`s been historically prevalent and it would take a true miracle for this world (Earth) to live in peace. It`s hard to live with peace, love and equanimity in your heart and life when thee is so much greed, hatred, anger, racism, and fear in this world. All though I try.
